The jobless challenge keeping spouse motivated can be delicate matter

“A spouse needs to know that it takes time,” said Linda Baugh, president of the Phoenix office of American Career Executives. “They need to be understanding and supportive, that they are not going to get an interview every week.”

While it might be tempting to have a spouse take care of all the little chores that always pile up, don’t break their focus from their job search, Baugh said.

“Do not give the job-seeker a lit of ‘honey do’ projects to do around the house just because they have time now,” she said. “They will be busy with painting the house, fixing the porch and not putting their time and effort into the job search.”
