‘Tis fair season again

“It’s okay to go to a job fair, but expect to be disappointed and expect to be disillusioned,” said Linda Baugh, president of the Phoenix office of American Career Executives. “Quite often, the company has sent very junior people. You are not going to be speaking to decisionmakers.”

Job fairs are most beneficial to those starting out or in more front-line positions, she said. Middle- and upper-management candidates shouldn’t expect to get a lot out of attending.
